Yes. It is illegal to hunt whitetail deer in Texas without a valid hunting license.
All hunters are required to hold and produce a valid hunting license upon arriving to the Ranch.
The DGSP Ranch follows all applicable laws and rules with respect to harvesting and transporting game--no exceptions.
Hunting licenses can be obtained through Texas Parks and Wildlife.
The DGSP Ranch is a premium hunting destination.
Our property is conveniently located only two hours south of San Antonio, and only an hour away from the Corpus Christi International Airport.
We offer luxury accommodations in our brand new Lodge that boasts a rustic Spanish-styled hacienda fused with the comforts of a modern home.
We offer four distinct hunting locations on our property, all equipped with top of the line deer blinds. Our blinds are equipped with bow-windows, are insulated, and can accommodate up to three people per blind.
For each hunter, we offer an experienced guide to assist in the hunt and to help our guests harvest the perfect animal.
We provide a complimentary welcome package for an Elite Package.
Upon request, we can have your animal fully processed and transported to a taxidermist.
When you book with the DGSP Ranch, you will have exclusive access to the Ranch for your stay, we will not book any other hunters or parties during your stay or Day Hunt.
At the DGSP Ranch, your hunting experience is full service, customizable, and exclusive.
In order to ensure the highest quality of animals, the greater portion of the DGSP Ranch is high fenced. In 2023 the Ranch initiated a selective breeding program to increase genetic diversity amongst the herd, and to introduce blood lines with elite antler development. Upon request, hunters can elect to hunt the portion of the property that is low-fenced for a reduced fee.
Guests are welcome to bring any firearms they legally own. We request that all guests disclose the number and types of firearms they intend to bring to the Ranch before arrival. The DGSP Ranch has a 280 yard private shooting range for our guests. All hunters are required to demonstrate their marksmanship at a minimum of 100 yards prior to their hunt. Prior to being allowed to shoot at an animal more than 150 yards away, any hunter must demonstrate their marksmanship at a minimum of 200 yards.
Aside from your bow, crossbow, or rifle, bring all your gear, or none at all--we've got you covered.
DGSP Ranch invites guests to bring their own backpacks with gear such as binoculars, snacks, and water.
However, the Ranch can provide you with any equipment you may need--complimentary of course.
We do encourage you check the local forecast and dress appropriately.
Jeans, boots, and other out-doors oriented garments are encouraged.
Sneakers, athletic wear, or delicate clothing is discouraged.
Open-toed shoes, sandals, or flip-flops are prohibited outside of the lodge.
DGSP Ranch encourages families to enjoy the outdoors together and children over the age of 5 are welcome at the Ranch.
DGSP also offers family discounts.
Note: children must be supervised at all times by a parent or legal guardian.
No child under the age of 15 will be allowed to hunt without being accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
